DENVER – Fahren Glackin and Kayla Green were named the Western Athletic Conference Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, the league announced on Monday. This is the first-ever honor for Glackin and the fourth honor of Green's career.
Glackin helped the Aggies to a 2-1 record against No. 17 Kentucky to start the season. The senior opened the year batting .800 with a hit in each game of the series and reaching base multiple times in each game. She also posted an .800 slugging percentage and a .917 on-base percentage. Glackin tallied four runs and four hits for New Mexico State and drove in one run in each of the victories. She was also named the College Sports Madness WAC Softball Player of the Week.

Green opened her 2018 campaign with a pair of wins over the ranked Wildcats. She posted a 1.91 ERA, only allowing a single earned run in each of her appearances and walking just one batter. The junior led the Aggies to their first win over a ranked opponent since 2015 when she pitched 4.0 innings, allowing just four hits and striking out a pair of Kentucky batters. She followed up the performance by pitching 3.1 inning in relief where she allowed just three hits, earning her second win of the season.
The NM State squad is back in action when the team hosts the annual Troy Cox Classic. The Aggies open the tournament against the two-time defending national champions Oklahoma on Friday, Feb. 16, at 1:30 p.m. (MT).
