LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's track and field team takes on stellar competition at the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, Texas, this weekend. The meet begins for the Aggies on Friday, March 30, from the Texas State's Bobcat Track and Field Stadium.
NM State enters the meet after posting impressive performances at the UTEP Springtime last weekend.
Katara Nelson set another program record when she clocked in at 23.26 for first place in the 200m.
Tanisha Scott followed closely behind the senior as she recorded a time of 24.10 for a new personal best in the event. On the field,
Taniya Mitchell placed first in the women's hammer throw when she posted a mark of 52.29m (171-7). The throw was a new personal best for the senior and ranks fifth in the Aggies' outdoor record books.
The Bobcat Invitational begins for New Mexico State on Friday with the women's high jump kicking things off at noon MT. Running events for NM State begin on Friday with the women's 100m, at 4 p.m. MT.
