LAREDO, Texas – The New Mexico State men's golf team wrapped up day one of play at the Border Olympics on Friday at the Laredo Country Club. Through two rounds of action the Aggies sit in 15
th out of 17 with a team score of 585 (+9).
Team play for NM State on day one was led by
Isaac Merry who sits in a tie for 23
rd after shooting a 69-74—143 (-1). Sophomore
Tristin Goodwin finished the opening day in a tie for 37
th firing a 75-70—145 (+1).
Tadhg Campbell shot a 77-71—148 (+4) and after two rounds is tied for 62
nd.
Michael McGilton followed with a 150 (+6) to tie for 77
th and
Tyler Svendson is tied for 87
th at 152 (+8).
Cooper Donahue, competing as an individual, fired a 154 (+10) and sits in 92
nd heading to round three.
After day one Arkansas State sits atop the team leaderboard with a team total of 567 (-9), while Campbell and Sam Houston State round out the top-three as the team are tied for second with a score of 569 (-7).
