TEMPE, Ariz. – The New Mexico State men's golf team completed the two-day, three-round ASU Thunderbird Invitational on Sunday at Karsten Golf Course. The Aggies finished with a team total of 884 (+32) that put the team in 14
th place out of 17 competitors.
Team play was led by
Isaac Merry who saved his best round for last and fired a 69-75-67—211 (-2) to tie for 15
th.
Tadhg Campbell finished the tournament in a tie for 46
th shooting a 75-74-70—219 (+6).
Michael McGilton posted a 73-77-75—225 (+12) to tie for 67
th. Then
Ryo Harada tied for 76
th at 78-76-75—229 (+16) and
Jack Snyder rounded out the squad with a 79-83-76—238 (+25).
At tournament's end, host No. 25 Arizona State finished in first place with a team score of 830 (-22), followed by No. 27 UNLV at 831 (-21) and No. 3 Oklahoma wrapped up play in third place with at 833 (-19).
The ASU Thunderbird Invitational wrapped up regular season play for New Mexico State and the team now gets ready for the Western Athletic Conference Championship, April 23-25, on the Prairie Dunes Golf Course in Hutchinson, Kan.
