LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State football team and San Diego State have signed a home-and-home series for the 2019 and 2023 seasons Director of Athletics

The first meeting between the Aggies and Aztecs is scheduled for Sept. 14, 2019, at Aggie Memorial Stadium. NM State then makes the return trip in 2023 for a Sept. 2 showdown. The Aggies were already slated to play at San Diego State on Sept. 4, 2021, at SDCCU Stadium for the Aztecs coming to Aggie Memorial Stadium back in 2013. Â

San Diego State is schedule to play in a new stadium by the time the Aggies and Aztecs square off in 2023. NM State is 1-9-1 all-time against SDSU with its lone win coming in 1955 by a score of 26-6 back on Nov. 12.

New Mexico State wrapped up the 2017 campaign 7-6 overall and 4-4 in conference play after snapping a 57-year bowl drought when it captured the 2017 NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl championship with a thrilling 26-20 overtime win over Utah State on Dec. 29, 2017.
