LAWRENCE, Kan. – New Mexico State women's track and field opened competition at the Western Athletic Conference Championships at Rock Chalk Park on Thursday. Stephanie Quintero placed eighth in the 10,000m in the Aggies lone event of the night.
 
Quintero was the only NM State athlete to compete on Thursday night and she took home eighth in the 10k with a time of 37:48.25 for a new personal record. Her time ranks 10th in the NM State record books.
 
The Aggies continue their run at the conference championships on Friday, May 11, with the long jump kicking things off at 10 a.m. MT. Fans can catch the action from Friday and Saturday's events on the WAC Digital Network.
