LAS CRUCES, N.M. – New Mexico State head men's basketball coach Chris Jans announced the addition of Clayton Henry for the upcoming 2018-19 basketball season on Friday.

"We are excited Clayton Henry has chosen to be an Aggie!" said Jans. "He is a versatile player capable of playing multiple positions. Clayton is a wonderful kid and epitomizes the quality of student-athlete we desire in our program."

Henry comes to the City of Crosses by way of Palm Beach State College located just north of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. As a sophomore, he averaged 10.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists for the Panthers and saw action in 30-of-31 games. Henry reached double-figures in half of the games to go with six contests with double-digit boards. He had a career game against Miami Dade on Feb. 17 of this year, recording a triple-double with a career-high 22 points on 10-of-19 shooting to go with 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

Heading into freshman campaign, Henry participated in the Southeastern JUCO Jamboree and All-American Jamboree. The Calgary, Canada, product posted five points with five rebound and five assists in his collegiate debut and followed up with his first-career double-double – tallying 11 points and 12 rebounds before finishing the season averaging 5.7 points and 3.3 boards.

The 6-5 guard Henry is set to join Addison Wallace and Ivan Aurrecoechea in Las Cruces next year as the Aggie men's basketball team looks to defend its Western Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament title.
