@NMStateSoftball Heads to Arizona State for NCAA Regional

The road to the Women’s College World Series begins in Tempe, Ariz., as the Aggies open the NCAA Softball Tournament with a contest against No. 8 Arizona State.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State softball team is set play in the Tempe Regional of the NCAA Softball Championship, the NCAA announced on Sunday. The Western Athletic Conference champions take on the Arizona State Sun Devils on Friday, May 18, at 7:30 MT. Fans can follow along with the contest on WatchESPN.
 

The regional is set to take place Friday, May 18 through Sunday, May 20 and is a double-elimination format. The four-team regional includes NM State (29-22), host and eighth-seeded ASU (43-11), Long Beach State (42-12) and Ole Miss (30-23).

The Aggies face Arizona State for the third time this season. New Mexico State fell 3-0 at Farrington Stadium and 5-1 in the regular-season finale at the NM State Softball Complex. Fans can purchase tickets for the regional on site.
