LAS CRUCES, N.M. – New Mexico State outfielder
David Bellamy was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District First-Team for District VII as voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA).

He becomes the seventh player in program history to earn the honor and the first since Joseph Koerper in 2016. Bellamy currently has a 3.91 GPA in marketing.

Hailing from Eugene, Ore., the senior is batting .317 from the plate with 20 RBI while starting in 20-of-27 games he saw action in. The 6-0 lefty owns a .427 slugging-percentage with seven extra-base hits and a .360 on-base percentage.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution and must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at the position listed on the nomination form (where applicable).

Bellamy will now move on to Academic All-America ballot, which will be voted on by CoSIDA members and released on Thursday, June. 7.
