WASHINGTON, D.C. – New Mexico State associate athletic director for sport administration & student development James Hall was named a McLendon Minority Scholarship recipient for the 2018 LEAD1 Institute this past Tuesday.

The LEAD1 Association annually conducts the Institute, a three-day educational forum where experienced athletics directors teach and share information and know-how with the Institutes' participants.  Typically, these are senior level FBS associate athletics directors nominated by their universities' athletics directors to attend the program. The goal of the Institute is to better prepare the participants to ascend into the role of athletics director. This year's Institute will be held July 16-18, 2018 at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.

Hall, a member of the NM State Athletics Department since 2006, currently serves as the sport administrator for sports performance, volleyball, women's swimming & diving, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's cross country and women's track & field. Hall also oversees the Academic Support Programs & Services Center for Student-Athletes where all 16 sports have averaged a combined 3.00 GPA for the past 13 years – 26 consecutive semesters.

The veteran administrator is the founder and CEO of Majority of One Brands, a group that creates educational and business development opportunities for students and athletes at the high school, collegiate and professional level.

Hall received his bachelor's in speech communication from Iowa State where he was a four-year letter winner, triple crown champion and All-American with the Cyclone track & field team. He also earned his master's in higher education and personnel services from ISU.
