2014-15 (JUNIOR): Nightingale has developed into one of the top distance swimmers in the WAC along with being an incredible leader for the Aggies, and has demonstrated a tremendous work ethic and toughness. She was relied on again to swim the distance events during every dual meet and showed her diverse talent representing the team during the backstroke and IM events as well.
At the UNLV Invite, Nightingale finish 12th in the 500 free, 17th in the 400IM, and 7th in the mile.
She concluded with a strong showing at the WAC Championship meet scoring 29 individual points for the Aggies. In the 500 free, she finished in ninth place winning the consolation finals with the fourth best time overall. This was also the third fastest 500 free ever by and Aggie swimmer. In the 400 IM she also finished ninth, winning the consolation heat again with the fifth fastest time of the meet and a personal best of 4:26.23. She capped her WAC meet with a fourth place finish in the mile and a personal best of 17:03.28 which is also the third all-time fastest mile in program history.
2013-14 (SOPHOMORE): For the second-straight year Nightingale showed a range of ability in the pool, swimming in every meet for NM State while competing in a team-high eight different individual events. She swam the 100 back, 200 back, 200 fly, 200 Individual Medley (IM), 400 IM, 500 free, 1,000 free and 1,650 free while also being part of the 400-free and 800-free relay teams.
After picking up her first win in the 1,000 free as a freshman, Nightingale added two more 1,000 free wins during her sophomore campaign. The first came in the fall against Northern Colorado (Nov. 2) after posting a time of 10:34.82, while the second came in the spring versus Idaho (Jan. 18) with a time of 10:33.87. Her best time of the season and of her career in the event, however, came a week later with a second-place finish versus Grand Canyon (Jan. 25) after posting a lifetime-best 10:25.45, the best time in the 1,000 free for any Aggie swimmer in 2013-14. Nightingale also had the best time of the season for NM State in the 1,650 free, a time of 17:08.40 at the season-ending WAC Championships (Feb. 26-Mar. 1) that gave Nightingale an eighth-place finish at the conference championships. She also finished the WAC Championships in 12th place in the 400 IM (4:28.24) and in 13th place in the 500 free with a season-best 5:00.21 while also anchoring the 800-free relay team that finished in fourth place in the WAC. Aside from breaking her personal best in the 1,000 free, Nightingale also broke her lifetime-best times in the 100 back and 200 IM as a sophomore. At the Phil Hansel Invitational in Houston (Nov. 21-23), she swam the preliminary round of the 100 back in 59.77, while at the three-way meet versus Arizona and Oregon State she swam the 200 IM in 2:14.70, both career best. At the conclusion of the season Nightingale was rewarded with her second-consecutive Academic All-WAC honor.
2012-13 (FRESHMAN): In her first year in Las Cruces, Nightingale demonstrated how versatile she is in the water as she competed in eight different individual events for the Aggies. At the 2013 WAC Championships, she posted three top 11 finishes. Nightingale captured ninth in the 1,650 free (17:07.02), with a team-best showing. She also recorded a pair of 11th-place finishes in the 500 free (4:59.33) with a season-best time and 400 IM (4:26.70) with a lifetime-best swim. Nightingale won her first individual event, the 1,000 free, at Idaho (Jan. 18), and she finished second in the 500 free. Nightingale contributed to the Aggie relays in the 200-free and 800-free. In addition, she earned Academic All-WAC Freshman/Transfer team honors.
HIGH SCHOOL: Nightingale joined the Crimson and White from Allen, Texas, after graduating from Lovejoy High School in Lucas, Texas. In the summer of 2012, she competed at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Omaha, Neb., in the 200 backstroke after she qualified at the Texas Senior Circuit meet in Mansfield, Texas. Nightingale posted a time of 2:17.33 in the preliminaries and then swam 2:17.92 in the finals. Both performances were under the cut and almost three seconds faster than her previous best time. As a senior, Nightingale won the 500 free at the state meet following a runner-up finish in 2011. She captured fourth place in the 500 free as a sophomore. Her personal-best times were 4:55.53 in the 500 free and 4:26.81 in the 400 IM.
PERSONAL: Born in Kissimmee, Fla., Nightingale is the daughter of Mark and Lorie Nightingale. She is pursuing a degree in kinesiology.
