Delgado Adds Four to Complete 2016 Signing Class

NM State women’s soccer head coach Freddy Delgado added four more signees to complete his 2016 signing class.

LAS CRUCES – New Mexico State women's soccer head coach Freddy Delgado added four more players to complete his 2016 signing class.

Raeann Garcia, Amy Gulczynski, Reilly Marks and Adriana "Tuti" Tirado will join seven other signees from the 2016 signing class that have already signed their National Letters of Intent to play at New Mexico State.

"The addition of these student-athletes solidifies our 2016 class as one of the strongest in our short history," Delgado said. "Of course they are all good players, but as a group they bring an unmatched enthusiasm and work ethic. They love the game, they love watching it and learning about it. That passion definitely translates to the field. I think this group is going to have an immediate impact in how our current team views the game."

Raeann Garcia | San Antonio, Texas
5-8 | Goalkeeper | O'Connor High School

Garcia joins the Aggies after posting a solid prep career at O'Connor High School where she led the Panthers to a 15-1-0 overall and league championship her sophomore year. She gave up just nine goals in district player during her tenure in the cage and also posted 51 shutouts. During her four years at O'Connor High School, the Panthers sported a 46-6-6 record in district play. Garcia never had a goals against average higher than 0.47 in prep play, including a 0.00 GAA her freshman year with the Panthers. She earned district honorable mentions her freshman campaign and was a first-team all-district player her sophomore and junior year.

"Raeann is a strong, powerful and seasoned goalkeeper," said Delgado. "We needed to add depth and someone who was going to challenge our current two players. She uses her size very well, especially with crosses and high balls. She definitely brings the experience, explosiveness and leadership necessary to be successful at the college level."

Amy Gulczynski | Litchfield Park, Ariz.
5-8 | Midfielder | Phoenix College

Gulczynski is transferring to NM State after a year at Phoenix College. The 5-8 midfielder scored eight goals and had nine assists in 21 games for the Bears, earning her National Junior College Athletics Association Honorable Mention. In just her second match at Phoenix College, Gulczynski fired in three goals to go with one assists for a season-high seven points. During her four years at Millennium High School, she guided the Tigers to two league titles, a second-place finish and a top-three finish. As a freshman, Gulczynski led MHS to a 12-4-0 overall record and perfect 10-0-0 finish in league play. She again helped the Tigers capture the league title as a junior, going 16-3-3 overall and 9-0-1 in conference play. She finished her prep career with a 54-16-3 overall record and 35-5-1 record in league play.

"Amy has all the traits of a true central midfielder," Delgado said. "She can attack, defend, assist, score and is good in the air. She combines a very good soccer mind with speed and athleticism. She has a true passion for the game and it shows in her style and work ethic. She has one year of college soccer under her belt, so I think she will be able to step in and contribute from the beginning."

Reilly Marks | Tucson, Ariz.
5-7 | Forward | Salpointe Catholic High School

Marks made a huge impact her first and only year at Salpointe Catholic High School where she reunited with head coach Becky Barry. She helped the Lancers go 23-2 and 6-0 in section VI play her senior year, earning her AllSportsTucson.com Division II Player of the Year honors and First-Team All-Southern Arizona. In her first two seasons at Cienega High School, Marks earned the team's most valuable player award as a freshman and then the coaches' award as a sophomore.

"Reilly is a tremendous athlete who plays with her heart on her sleeve," said Delgado. "She is a fierce competitor and is well respected amongst her coaches and teammates. She played a big role in continuing a winning tradition at her high school and I believe she will bring that same competitive, winning attitude with her to NM State.

Adriana "Tuti" Tirado | San Juan, Puerto Rico
5-0 | Midfielder | American Military Academy

Tirado, a Puerto Rican women's junior national team member, comes to New Mexico State from the American Military Academy in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Tirado brings a great deal of international experience to NM State, having played against junior national teams from Haiti, Jamaica and other teams around the Caribbean. She will have a familiar face when she starts in Las Cruces; having played with Dominique Rivera last October on Puerto Rican Junior National Team. The midfielder took her team to the finals and captured the Puerto Rico High School Athletic Alliance championship as a freshman. For her efforts, she was named the athlete of the year by the PRHSAA as well as the most valuable player. She led AMA to the semis her last three seasons there and was awarded MVP honors each of those years, also earning a place in the all-star game each of those years. In her four years at the American Military Academy, Tirado scored 60-plus goals and registered 35 assists. Tirado is also a champion in the classroom, earning honor society recognition all four years.

"Tuti is a seasoned veteran at some of the world's biggest stages, playing with and against some of the best players in the world," Delgado said. "She is smaller in stature, but is very savvy with her gamesmanship, movement and tactical awareness. Her composure and creativity on the ball is exciting to watch and mixes well with our attacking style of play."
