FLAGSTAFF, ARIZ. – New Mexico State was well represented at the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships on Monday as MacKinna Hauff and Raina Brommer competed against tough competition in the 3-meter springboard. Despite solid scores, neither diver advanced to the event finals.
"MacKinna had a solid meet today and was very consistent," diving coach Miranda King said. "She was only 17 points away from making the finals. It's pretty awesome considering the field is filled with the top Pac-12 schools."
Hauff finished 27th out of 54 participants as she scored 260.95. Brommer recorded a score of 159.25 in the event.
"Raina pushed through and finished the event and I am proud of her for that," King said.
Both divers have two more chances to qualify for the NCAA Championships. Both Hauff and Brommer will compete in the 1-meter springboard and platform events.
The NCAA Zone E Diving Championships continue on Tuesday, March 7, with the women's 1-meter preliminaries beginning at 11 a.m.
