DENVER – The Western Athletic Conference announced the 2017 Academic All-WAC honorees on Thursday and a slew of NM State student-athletes earned recognition. In total, 23 Aggie student-athletes from men's and women's basketball, indoor track and field and swimming and diving were honored.
Swimming and diving had the most for NM State, checking in with 13 student-athletes while indoor track and field came in second with seven earning all-academic honors. Men's and women's basketball each had one.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests.
