Stefanie Ewing is in her third season as an assistant softball coach for the Aggies.

In her time at New Mexico State, Ewing has proven to be an integral part of the Aggies’ offense.

The 2018 season proved to be another banner year for the Aggies as the team claimed its fourth-straight WAC regular-season championship and second-straight WAC tournament title. Ewing helped guide the NM State squad to back-to-back victories over then-ranked No. 17 Kentucky in the season-opener for the program's first win over a ranked opponent since April 6, 2015. Overall, the team came away with four wins against Power-5 opponents as New Mexico State took down Big 12 foe Texas Tech on the road and eventual Big Ten tournament champion Minnesota at the NM State Softball Complex.

With Ewing guiding the offense, the Aggies posted a .506 slugging percentage to rank eighth in the NCAA. The team's 1.09 home runs per game put NM State in 13th nationally while the .311 batting average ranked 18th. New Mexico State averaged 1.47 doubles per game, which put the squad 22nd in the nation and the team's .391 on base percentage was good for 25th nationally.

Following the 2017 season, New Mexico State ranked ninth nationally in batting average (.325) and 10th in both on-base percentage (.414) and slugging percentage (.501). New Mexico State was also 16th in scoring (5.93), 23rd in doubles per game (1.48) and 25th in home runs per game (0.96).

In addition to the national rankings, NM State finished first among Western Athletic Conference teams in batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, home runs (52), RBI (294), runs scored (320), and stolen bases (65).

During the 2016, she helped coach NM State to a 38-21 overall record and a 14-1 record in conference play. The Aggies also won their second-straight Western Athletic Conference regular season title.

With Ewing helping with the offense, New Mexico State was ranked No. 7 in the nation in batting average (.343), No. 11 in on-base percentage (.427), No. 2 in slugging percentage (.508), No. 24 in stolen bases (1.76) per game, No. 27 in triples per game (0.25), No. 29 in scoring (5.95), and No. 50 in win/loss percentage (0.644).

Prior to NM State, Ewing was an assistant coach for the Arizona Firecrackers under 18 Gold team and the Arizona Hotshots Club team from 2011-15. While there, she coached over 30 players to be All-Region, All-Conference, All-Americans, Freshmen of the Year and Academic All-Americans at the Division I-III level.

In addition to coaching the Firecrackers and the Hotshots, Ewing was the varsity softball coach at Chaparral High School from 2012-15. The Scottsdale, Ariz. native guided Chaparral to the state finals in 2013 and the state semi-finals in 2014. Following her team’s run in the state tournament, Ewing was named Arizona Big School Coach of the Year in 2013.

Ewing began her coaching career in 2010 as an assistant coach at Butler, where the team garnered the most wins in school history. Under her guidance, the Bulldogs set offensive records in home runs, batting average, RBIs and runs scored.

Ewing played at Oregon State from 2006-09. During the 2006 season, Oregon State advanced to the Women’s College World Series for the first time in program history. During that same year, Ewing earned All-Pacific Region and was named to the All-PAC 10 Freshman Team. Additionally, Ewing was named All-Pac 10 in 2009 and was a three-year captain for the Beavers.
