Head Coach Rick Pratt on NM State Swimming and Diving Facilities

Our training environment and setting is one of the best in the nation for swimming and diving.  To have an outdoor 10 lane 50-meter pool, at 3,900-feet above sea level, along with 350 days of sunshine a year is unique and special.  To supplement our outdoor facility, we also have an indoor 25-yard pool that proves advantageous for cooler mornings.

From a training perspective, you cannot beat having access to this facility at a mild altitude setting.  From a recruiting standpoint, it really sets us apart from most programs and we are blessed to have such a facility in the heart of our beautiful campus.

The recent addition of the Glass Family Locker Room and team area has tied everything together for our athletes; they can enjoy the convenience of our own space right on the pool deck.  We are very fortunate to have the support of the Glass family, Smoky and Alan Torgerson, and Linda and Dave Schroeder.  They have made this facility project, and so much more, possible for our program.
