LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Fresh off its three victories in Phoenix last weekend, the New Mexico State women's tennis team returns home to entertain a pair of matches this at the NMSU Tennis Center.

First up for the Aggies will be Western New Mexico at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 25. NM State then faces off against UT-Permian Basin on Sunday, March 27, at 10 a.m.

KEEP ON, KEEPIN' ONNew Mexico State looks to build on its success last weekend in Phoenix as they host WNMU and UTPB this weekend. The Aggies opened last week with a sweep of Mesa Community College before grinding out a pair of tightly-contested matches against UTRGV and Grand Canyon, 4-3.

Rimpledeep Kaur was named the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week after dominating her opponents over the weekend. The Jassowal, India, native went 3-0 in singles play and 2-1 in doubles action. In her two WAC matches, Kaur gave up just two points and blanked her counterpart from Grand Canyon in singles. Her lone loss came in doubles action against GCU's No. 2 doubles tandem, 6-4.

Kaur has now won five of her last six singles matches and two of her last three doubles contests. The sophomore is also pacing NM State in dual play with a 6-3 mark in singles.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTSFirst up for the Aggies will be Western New Mexico. The Mustangs are 4-11 on the year and have lost five-straight matches, including a 0-7 mark when playing on the road. Annely Heinze is the team leader at 5-9 in dual play while Gemma Goodland (4-11), Diamond Morrill (4-10) and Claudia Osuna (4-10) each have four wins apiece. Goodland and Ashley Newell pace WNMU in doubles play with a 6-8 record at the No. 1 position while Heinze and Morrill are 5-7 at the No. 3 slot.

NM State will then square off against UT-Permian Basin on Sunday, March 27, at 10 a.m. The Falcons are 1-9 so far on the year and just picked up their first win against North Central Texas College on March 12. Andrea Villalobos leads the team with a 4-7 mark while Shelby Green is 3-6 in singles play on the year. Three other players check in with two wins while everyone else has one. Megan Green and her sister S. Green are 6-5 when playing at No. 3 doubles while Kaleigh Smith and Villalobos are 2-5.
