@NMStateSwimDive to Honor Seniors in Final Home Meet of the Season

The New Mexico State swimming and diving team will honor its three seniors in the final home meet of the 2017-18 season against CSU-Pueblo on Saturday.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Seniors Picabo Bender, Melissa Rogers and Gabrielle Sanchez will be honored on Saturday, Jan. 13, as the New Mexico State swimming and diving team hosts CSU-Pueblo in its final home meet of the 2017-18 season. Competition begins at 11:30 a.m. MT at the NM State Swimming and Diving Complex.

"Senior Day is always a special event for our team and we are really proud and appreciative of these three special women," said head coach Rick Pratt. "They have all impacted our program in many ways and it is always bittersweet to watch them finish their careers at home. We've had another great week of practice and the break from school has been very productive. This weekend's format will be interesting and we're hoping to have more speed than we did in Arizona last weekend."

WAC Diver of the Week recipient Raina Brommer looks to continue her hot streak as she and the diving team will compete in the one-meter and three-meter diving categories. The remaining events include the 200 medley relay, 1000 free, 200 free, 50 free, 200 IM, 100 fly, 100 free, 100 back and 500 free. P. Bender, Rogers and Sanchez will be honored in a special Senior Day ceremony prior to the 100 breast and 200 free relay events.
