LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The Aggies are off to San Antonio for their second tournament of the regular season. The NM State men's golf team is set to participate in the Lone Star Invitational Monday, Sept. 16, and Tuesday, Sept. 17, on the AT&T Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio.

11 teams, including the Aggies, are slated to compete in the event, which is hosted by the University of Texas at San Antonio. The first and second rounds of the 54-hole tournament tee off at 7:30 a.m. (MT) Monday, with the final round getting underway at 7:30 a.m. (MT) Tuesday.

THE FIELD
Host institution UTSA welcomes NM State in addition to Houston, Lipscomb, Little Rock, Louisiana, McNeese State, Rice, South Alabama, ULM and UT Arlington to this year's tournament.

The Roadrunners are the reigning champions, winning the rain-shortened, 36-hole 2018 event with a two-over-par (578). Arkansas State (580, +4), Little Rock (589, +13), Sam Houston State (589, +13) and ULM (591, +15) rounded out the top five one year ago.

NM State last competed in the Lone Star Invitational during its 2017-18 campaign. The Aggies finished in fifth place at 13-over-par (877) as a team.

Powell led the way in NM State's season-opening tournament one weekend ago. The native of Drybrook, England, finished with a team-best overall score of four-over-par (220) en route to tying for T37th place.
