PALM DESERT, Calif. - NM State men's golf
 finished out its weekend at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate on a high note, as the team fired its tournament-best score in the third and final round at Classic Club.
The Aggies came in at five-over 293 as a team Sunday, led by freshmen
Aidan Thomas and
Steven Strasheim's even-par 72s. NM State finished the tournament at 33-over 897 and in 17th place.
Freshman
Trey Diehl was the Aggies' top finisher, tying for 33rd at two-over 218. Thomas tied for 77th at 11-over 227, and senior
Tanvir Kahlon was right behind him in a tie for 86th at 13-over 229.
Sophomore
Garrison Smith carded a 15-over 231 finish, which tied him for 84th. Strasheim rounded out the fivesome with a 16-over 232 and tied for 99th.
NM State returns to action in mid-March. The Aggies will next compete in The Louisiana Classic from March 16-17 at Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette, La.
