LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State softball team is set to host the Battle of I-25 against New Mexico on Wednesday, March 11 at 4 p.m. before heading to Oklahoma for a tournament from March 13-15 where it will take on #6 Oklahoma, Kent State and Houston.

New Mexico sits at 11-14 overall and is coming off four losses at the Mary Nutter Classic. The Aggies run-ruled the Lobos three times last season by scores of 8-0, 11-3 and 10-0.

The Lobos are solid offensively and our disciplined at the plate as they rank fourth nationally in walks (104) and 12
th nationally in doubles (43). As a team, UNM hits .257. Cameron O'Grady leads the team in batting average at .365.

New Mexico has had some struggles in the circle with a team ERA of 4.63. Kiana Spencer leads the staff with a 4.15 ERA and a 7-2 record in 59 innings pitched.

NM State competed in the ASU Invitational in Tempe against #17 ASU, Wright State, Oregon State and Nebraska. The Aggies finished the weekend 3-2, picking up three Power 5 wins in the process.

The Aggies took down tournament host and 17
th-ranked ASU 2-0 after
Analise De La Roca and
Felicia De La Torre combined to shut out the Sundevils. New Mexico State followed that up with another win against a Pac-12 team, taking down Oregon State 4-2. Against Nebraska,
Matalasi Faapito tossed 7.0 innings and only allowed one run in a 4-1 Aggie win over the Huskers. That was the second the Aggies have defeated Nebraska this season, winning the season opener against the Huskers 11-6.
