LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Despite a shortened season,
Ramsay Lopez was named a Justin's World of Softball Freshman All-American, the publication announced on Monday.

Kathy Rodolph. "She has worked hard and really embodied the best parts of our culture. She is a great teammate, hardworking and focused on being her best self."

In 23 games, the Albuquerque native led a potent Aggie offense in batting average (.434), runs (19), home runs (9), OBP (.592), slugging (1.000) and walks (22). Nationally, the third baseman ranked third in slugging percentage, 15
th for home runs and eighth in walks per game. She started 21 games at third base and appeared in all 23 games for NM State.

Lopez paced a New Mexico State squad that was ranked top-10 nationally in both slugging percentage (ninth) and home runs per game (3). NM State slugged .580 while hitting 1.78 home runs a game.

Eighteen freshmen were named to the Justin's World of Softball All-American squad which was not selected by position. The list consists of seven pitchers, six infielders, two outfielders, two utility players and one catcher. Lopez is the first Aggie to earn the award from Justin's World of Softball.
