LAS CRUCES, N.M. –Eighth-year head coach
Doug Martin and the Aggies are back at work.
The NM State football program kicked off the 2020 fall camp on Friday night, practicing for two hours on the field adjacent to Aggie Memorial Stadium.
Despite much uncertainty surrounding the upcoming football season, the Aggies remain focused on the year ahead. With the proper safety measures in place to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the team has continued preparing for whatever may come its way.
"You can drive yourself crazy trying to figure out what's going to happen," Martin said. "We're just going to go day-by-day. We can't predict what's going to happen this season and down the road. We don't control any of it either.
"All I want [our student-athletes] to focus on is the moment. Work hard today. Let's get better today, and then let's do it again tomorrow. If we keep doing that, the rest of it will take care of itself."
Martin announced senior linebacker
Rashie Hodge Jr. and redshirt senior
Myles Vigne have opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns. The duo joins senior defensive lineman
Jomaious Williams, who opted out earlier last week.
