TUCSON, Ariz. - A four-birdie outing from freshman
Aidan Thomas led the way for New Mexico State men's golf on day two of the Arizona Intercollegiate.
The Albuquerque, N.M., native carded three birdies on the front nine, carving his way through holes one, eight and nine before hitting the turn and recording his fourth birdie of the round on hole 17. Thomas finished the day at three-over-par 72 and is tied for 68th place at 12-over 154 headed into the third and final round on Wednesday.
Fellow freshman
Matthew Jackman is directly behind Thomas at 13-over-par 155 through 36 holes of play, finishing the second round tied for 73rd. Freshmen
Scott Rescigno and
Trey Diehl, meanwhile, are tied for 85th, sitting at 15-over 157.
Freshman
Mauricio Figueroa rounds out NM State's fivesome at 18-over-par 160. The Arkansas transfer is tied for 94th entering tomorrow's action.
The Aggies, who are in 17th place at 53-over-par 621 as a team, tee off at 9 a.m. MT tomorrow to close out the season-opening tournament.
