The El Paso native is currently ranked 99th in AJGA Rolex Rankings

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – NM State men's golf and head coach Mike Dirks announced the signing of Eastwood HS product Javi Delgadillo Thursday afternoon.

Ranked 99th overall in the AJGA Rolex Rankings, Delgadillo will join the Aggies next fall ahead of the 2022-23 season.

Back in July, Delgadillo competed at the Boys Junior PGA Championship at the Kearney Hill Golf Links. After firing back to back rounds of even-par golf, Delgadillo fired rounds of 68 and 65 to vault into a tie for seventh place. His final round 65 featured six birdies, as the Texan did not drop a shot.

In April at the Ping Heather Farr Classic, Delgadillo used back-to-back rounds of 67 to finish at -6 overall and tied for fifth. The fifth place finish was his best finish during the 2020-21 amateur season.

The Aggies will look to build off a successful fall season that ended with the program taking home the team title at the Herb Wimberly Invitational. Other fall highlights included the Aggies finishing second at the Lone Star Invitational hosted by nationally-ranked UTSA and Aidan Thomas winning the William H. Tucker back in September.

HEAD COACH MIKE DIRKS ON DELGADILLO:
"Javi is a tremendous player that has a great background in golf. His dad has been a professional player and understands the game. And then, he has played a national schedule and excelled despite a little adversity. Some tournaments he didn't start off the greatest, but he fought back to record top-10 finishes at some really big junior tournaments. He can really play, and he has a strong game. He's going to be a great addition for us, because of his ability to step right in and play."
