AUSTIN, Texas - The NM State men's golf team wrapped up the final day at the George Hannon Invitational at the UT Golf Club on Tuesday. The Aggies finished 12th in the team standings with a 54-hole score of 904 (+52).Â
Aidan Thomas led the Aggies over the course of the tournament with a score of 225 (+12) to finish tied for 59th.
The Aggies had a couple of fresh faces lead the way on the final day, as
Steven Strasheim and
Alvaro Morales finished two-over and three-over in their final 18 holes. Strasheim got off to a hot start with birdies on three out of the first five holes. Strasheim picked up another birdie on the par-four fourth to get to two-over on the day. In his first tournament of the year, Strasheim finished tied for 64th with a score of 227 (+14) to finish second among the Aggies.
Morales finished his first collegiate tournament on a high note with a three-over 74. Morales picked up two birdies on the final nine holes to finish the tournament with a 54-hole score of 234 (+21).

Trey Diehl rounded out the Aggies' lineup with a score of 241 (+28).
The Aggies will continue its season on Apr. 5-6 at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic at the Westwood Golf Club in Houston, Texas.
