• Fresh off a pair of Western Athletic Conference triumphs last weekend, the NM State women's tennis team sets out on a journey to Pac-12 country. Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m., the Aggies will take to the Whiteman Tennis Center to battle 25th-ranked Arizona State.
• NM State is going in search of its first non-conference victory over an NCAA Division I foe this season.
• Tuesday morning, junior Gavi Kalaga collected her first WAC Singles Player of the Week award of the 2021 season. The Bhubaneswar, India, product won both of her singles showdowns last week and is riding a seven-match winning streak in singles play.
• Kalaga's seven singles wins are the most on the team while Harsha Challa (5-3) has added another five to the Aggies' total of 23 on the year.
• Recently, NM State's doubles team of Miranda Bishard and Lucija Josipovic experienced a great deal of success. That pairing has won its last two matches to move to 3-2 in tandem play. That puts them just one win behind Challa and Kalaga (4-3) for the team lead in doubles triumphs.

• Beginning with their matchup with the Aggies, the Sun Devils will remain at their home facility for the next five matches. Arizona State has dropped back-to-back matches - both to ranked opponents. Over the course of last weekend, the Sun Devils dropped a 4-1 decision to 26th-ranked Stanford as well as a 6-1 result to 20th-ranked California.
• No player on Arizona State's squad possesses a losing record in singles action. The most wins racked up in one-on-one action have come courtesy of Marianna Argyrokastriti who has gone 8-3 while playing predominantly in flight number five.
• Sammi Hampton, Ilze Hattingh and Lauren John-Baptiste haven't bounced around the Sun Devils' lineup at all. John-Baptiste hasn't played a single match off of line three and there she has gone 5-3.
• Doubles losses have been somewhat of a rarity for the Sun Devils as they are 20-9 (.690) in tandem play. Tereza Kolarova and Giulia Morlet are the owners of a perfect 5-0 record in doubles play while Sammi Hampton and Marianna Argyrokastriti have produced a team-high eight doubles wins. That tandem is 8-2 overall and a perfect 8-0 on line three.
