The Aggie Invitational Results
BRYAN, Texas - Making use of a team-best round of 72 (E) at the Traditions Golf Club Saturday afternoon, NM State men's golfer Garrison Smith moved up to 34th place during day two of The Aggie Invitational.
Smith, the lone NM State golfer in the top-50, rocketed 18 spots up the individual leaderboard with his strong second round. The sophomore led his squad which remained in 15th place out of 17 teams. Shaving seven strokes off of its day one score, NM State's score sits at 315-307=622 (+46).
Aidan Thomas penciled in a 74 (+2), carding a pair of birdies during day two of competition. A double bogey on hole four was the only thing preventing the freshman from posting an even score on the day.
Scott Rescigno fired in four birdies through his 18-hole afternoon, but a pair of double-bogeys offset them as he finished with a 77 (+5).
Steven Strasheim (80 (+8)), Alvaro Morales (81 (+9)) and Mauricio Figueroa (83 (+11)) rounded out the Aggies' group of competitors Saturday.
Headed into Sunday's final round, NM State hopes to climb up the leaderboard at Traditions Golf Club.
