BRYAN, Texas -
Led by Mauricio Figueroa's low round of 72 during the third and final day of The Aggie Invitational, the NM State men's golf team earned a 14th-place finish at the 17-team event at Traditions Golf Club Sunday afternoon.

Figueroa hopped 15 spots up the leaderboard through the final 18 holes of the event, carding seven birdies to finish even on the day. He finished in a tie for 68th place.

Garrison Smith, the Aggies' top finisher at the event, shot a 77 (+5) through the final round. He posted a pair of birdies, but dropped 11 spots on the leaderboard and settled in at 45th place once the leaderboard was finalized.

Both Aidan Thomas (78 (+6)) and Alvaro Morales (76 (+4)) improved their standing from day two to day three with their respective third-round scores.

Steven Strasheim (83 (+11)) fell nine spots through the course of the final day and finished in 87th place. Competing as an individual, Scott Rescigno produced a 78 (+6) and came in tied for 65th.

Top-ranked Oklahoma and 12th-ranked Texas A&M tied for the team title, shooting identical final scores of 866 (+2) through the three-day event.

With their regular season in the rearview mirror, the Aggies turn their attention to the 2021 WAC Championships. That three-day event at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder Creek, Nev., is set to begin Friday, April 30.
