Aggies Sit in 16th After Day One of PING Cougar Classic

PROVO, Utah - The NM State men's golf team sits in 16th after two rounds of the PING Cougar Classic in Provo, Utah. The Aggies shot a 589 (+13) in 36 holes today. The Aggies were one of 12 teams to complete both rounds on Friday. The other seven teams will conclude their second rounds tomorrow morning. 

In just his second tournament of his collegiate career, Joseph Robson posted a career-low 69 (-3) in the first round. Robson fired five birdies at the Riverside Country Club, including three birdies on the front nine. Robson currently sits tied for 30th with a score of 144 (E).

Garrison Smith fired an even-par 72 in the first round and is second in the Aggie lineup with a two-over 146. Smith sits tied for 49th in the field. 

Matthew Jackman finished his day strong with a two-over 74 to enter the clubhouse with a score of 148 (+6) and is tied for 62nd.

Trey Diehl and Scott Rescigno rounded out the lineup with scores of 151 (+9) and 152 (+10). 

The Aggies will conclude the tournament tomorrow morning. Tee times have not been set.
