LAS CRUCES, N.M. – NM State head coach
Jerry Kill has another piece to his coaching staff set as he announced that
Sid Robertson has joined the Aggies staff as a defensive analyst for the 2022 season.
Before coming to Las Cruces, Robertson was the defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of La Verne in La Verne, California. Robertson joined the Leopard staff in 2019 after spending more than a decade in the ranks of college football.
Prior to La Verne, Robertson oversaw several aspects of the football program at his alma mater - Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California. While with Mt. San Antonio College, Robertson began his tenure as the offensive line coach in 2016 before taking over the running backs room in 2017. Robertson also served as the run game coordinator in both the 2016 and 2017 seasons for the Mounties. In his final season at Mt. SAC, Robertson went back to the defensive side of the ball and coached the outside linebackers.
Beginning with the 2011 season, Robertson joined the staff at American River College in Sacramento. In his first two seasons, Robertson worked as the recruiting coordinator and defensive lines coach. Beginning in 2013, Robertson maintained oversight of recruiting while moving to the offensive side of the ball and becoming the running backs coach. In 2015, Robertson flipped back to defense and took over as the Beavers linebackers coach.
While at American River College, Robertson was of staff for two NorCal Championship appearances in 2012 and 2014, while also coaching the first undefeated team in Beavers history (2011).
Robertson began his coaching career at Pasadena City College in 2008, where he worked as the defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator.
Born in American Samoa and raised in Carson, California, Robertson has had a rich football history. While at Carson High School, Robertson earned Second-Team All-CIF LA City Selection honors as an offensive and defensive lineman. After high school, Robertson served a two-year Latter Day Saints church mission in Philadelphia. After completing his mission, Robertson continued his football career at Mt. SAC for two seasons before earning a scholarship to play at New Mexico Highlands University.
Robertson is married to his wife, Lethe, and they have a daughter, Lyanna Felila. When he's away from the gridiron, Robertson enjoys spending time with his family and golfing.
