BRYAN, Texas – In the opening round of the 2022 NCAA Bryan Regional,
Aidan Thomas looked to make a run towards the NCAA Championships in Scottsdale. As an individual, Thomas is the lone representative of the NM State men's golf team.
At the turn, Thomas found himself three-over-par. On the tenth hole, Thomas immediately birdied the 559-yard par five and brought his score back to just two over.
After making par on five consecutive holes, Thomas bogeyed twice on the final three holes to finish in a tie for 52nd place. The sophomore from Albuquerque shot a 76 on the day, good for four-over-par.
In Tuesday's second round, Thomas will tee off at 9:53 a.m. and will compete with Devansh Chadha of Texas Southern and Chad Sewell of Sam Houston. Just as he did in the opening round, Thomas will tee off from the first hole.
