NORMAN, Okla. – The honors keep coming for NM State sophomore golfer
Aidan Thomas. On Thursday, Thomas was named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf Division I All-America Scholar.
To be eligible for the honors, a golfer must be a sophomore, junior, or senior both academically amd athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA. In addition, they must participate in 50 percent of their team's competitive round, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Thomas is one of just 440 NCAA Division I athletes from 157 schools to earn Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars honors for the 2021-22 academic year. The Albuquerque native is working towards a degree in Business Management.
In addition to being an All-America Scholar, Thomas earned First Team All-WAC honors last season and competed in the NCAA Bryan Regional as an individual. Last fall, Thomas won the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of New Mexico.
