ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – After a strong 36 holes of golf on Friday,
Garrison Smith showed no signs of fatigue in Saturday's final round. Smith caught fire between holes 12 and 17, going five under par with five birdies throughout the six hole stretch.
Shooting up the leaderboard, Smith found himself in second place and just one shot off of the lead with six holes remaining. Carson Griggs from Denver pulled away from the pack while Smith settled into a third-place finish – His second consecutive top-three finish to open the season.
All five Aggies carded at least four birdies in the final round to help push NM State up the leaderboard. On the final day of the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate, the Aggies moved up two spots and finished in sixth place.
San Diego State hung onto their spot atop the leaderboard after day one, winning the event by eight strokes over New Mexico.
Round Three Notes
- NM State posted the second-lowest score in the final round, shooting a XXX (XXX).

Garrison Smith's third-place finish was his second straight top-three finish.
- Smith shot a 31 (-5) on holes 10-18.
- Smith parred 38 holes throughout the event, which finishes as the third-most of any player in the field.
- Smith edged out Albert Boneta by one stroke for the best finish by a player from a school in New Mexico.

Javier Delgadillo shot a 71 (-1) in the final round – His lowest round as an Aggie.
- Delgadillo also finished the tournament shooting a 222 (+6) – His best 54 holes for NM State.

Aidan Thomas went two-under on holes 1-9, finishing with a 71 (-1) in Saturday's final round.
- San Diego State shot a 848 (-16) to win the event. Denver's Carson Grigg claimed the individual title, shooting 205 (-11).
