TULSA, Okla. – While it wasn't the way that NM State men's golf wanted to finish the fall season, the Aggies pieced together their lowest 18-hole team score of The Clerico on Tuesday.
Javier Delgadillo was the Aggies' bright spot on Tuesday when he fired a 69 (-1), powered by four birdies. The four birdies for Delgadillo led all Aggies and pushed the El Paso native into a tie for 39th place.
Finishing four shots behind Delgadillo was
River Smalley, who tied for 48th. Smalley's final round 78 was not counted for the NM State scoring efforts. Smalley eeked out a one-stroke advantage over teammates
Vari Mariscal and
Alexandre Bauduin in Broken Bow.
Bauduin finished one-shot better than Mariscal in the final round, shooting a 74 (+4). On Tuesday, Bauduin sank a pair of birdies on the front nine to finish the turn with an even 35.
