DALLAS – For the second time this season, Aggie kicker
Ethan Albertson has been named the CUSA Special Teams Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday morning.
Following a Saturday performance in which he was a perfect 6-6 on combined kicks in a 38-29 victory over Western Kentucky, Albertson collected the Aggies' third weekly award of the year. Albertson made all five extra points while also connecting on his lone field goal attempt of the afternoon.
The redshirt senior from San Diego gave the Aggies their first points of the game as he stepped up and nailed a 40-yard field goal to mark his third field goal of 40 yards or longer this season and the 13
th of his career.
With the stellar weekend, Albertson now ranks second in program history in field goals made (41), fourth in extra points made (98), first in field goal percentage (.745) and fourth in extra point percentage (.961).
The distinction also makes Albertson the first Aggie to claim multiple conference player of the week awards since Andy Kohl was named Big West Special Teams Player of the Week twice in 1999. In total, only three Aggies other than Albertson have claimed two or more weekly awards in one season as Cody Ledbetter and Gary Jessie did so in 1995.
