EDINBURG, Texas – NM State opened up its two-game road stretch on Thursday in south Texas as they took on WAC foe UTRGV at the Kiskeya Athletics facility. After picking up its first win in WAC play on Sunday, NM State fell 5-2 to the Vaqueros to fall to 1-2 in league action.
DOUBLES
- To open the afternoon, the Aggies top doubles team picked up the only win in doubles play as Jordy Visser and Yehor Opanasenko combined to take down Emilien Burnel and Borna Devald by a score of 6-4.
SINGLES
- Visser picked up a win by retirement at the No. 2 spot to tally a win in the first match to go final. Unfortunately, the Aggies next win would not come until the final match to go reach a final as Luca Fé D'Ostiani managed a 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 win over Chris Lawrence at the No. 6 spot.
- Itay Feigin put up a fight at No. 4 as he managed a 6-2 win in the opening set before Agustin Salazar stole the next two sets.
UP NEXT
NM State will cap off its stretch of road matches on Saturday as they travel to Arlington, Texas, to take on UT Arlington. The match versus the Mavericks is set to begin at 10 a.m. (MDT).
