LAS CRUCES, N.M. – A pair of NM State men's golfers in Aidan Thomas and Alexandre Bauduin have been named GCAA All-America Scholars.

For Thomas, a senior from Albuquerque, this is his second All-America Scholar nod. Previously, Thomas earned a spot on Srixon/Cleveland's All-American scholar list for the 2021-22 season. Last year, Thomas earned All-WAC First Team honors while finishing inside the top five on three separate occasions. Thomas looks to anchor NM State as the Aggies transition into
Conference USA for the 2023-24 school year.

In his first year of competition as an Aggie, Bauduin put together an impressive campaign. After two rounds at the WAC Championships, Bauduin posted an even 144, including a second round in which he shot at 71 (-1). Bauduin caught fire throughout the second round of the Louisiana Classics, posting a 70 (-2) to enter the final round in a tie for ninth place.

To be eligible for GCAA All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate's Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, under 78.0 in NCAA Division II, under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, under 78.0 in NAIA, and under 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.

548 NCAA Division I athletes from 194 schools earned 2022-23 GCAA All-America Scholar honors.

Bauduin, Thomas, and the rest of NM State will tee off the 2023-24 season on Monday, September 4 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri for the Golfweek Collegiate Kickoff. The full schedule for NM State can be found HERE.
