ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – After two days of competition in Albuquerque, the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate has drawn to a close. NM State men's golf rounds out the tournament in a tie for 16th place, posting an 884 (+20) over the two-day event.
The Aggies shot 300 (+12) as a team in the final round with
Alvaro Morales leading the way, firing a 71 (-1). Morales played exceptionally on the front nine, posting a bogey-free four-under 32 at the turn. The Spaniard posted NM State's best individual finish of the week, tying for 37th place.
Javier Delgadillo finished just behind Morales throughout the tournament, tying for 48th place. Delgaillo shot a 74 (+2) in the final round while mixing in four birdies along the way.
After a short hiatus, NM State will host the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate, beginning on Monday, Oct. 16. Wimberly, a legendary golf coach for NM State, was recently inducted into the PGA of America Hall of Fame.
