Live Scoring & Results

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – While most people across the United States were enjoying the Labor Day holiday, NM State men's golf returned to action, competing in a strong 12-team field at the Golfweek Collegiate Kickoff. The Aggies currently hold the tenth place position as they enter the final 18 holes of action on Tuesday.

The season got off to a blistering start for NM State as the Aggies climbed as high as a second-place tie with LSU early on. Alexandre Bauduin led the charge for NM State, birdieing holes four, six, and eight. Bauduin shared the team lead in the opening round with Alvaro Morales, both of whom shot a 73 (+1). After a birdie on hole two, Morales became the first Aggie with an eagle in the 2023-24 season, accomplishing this on the 560-yard 15th hole.

NM State struggled to find a rhythm throughout the second round of the day. The majority of the Aggies' success came on holes 15 and 18, where they were seven-under as a group. Morales continued to shine in the second round, firing an even 72 to lead the program.

Due to weather conditions, Monday's second round was cut short, and play was suspended. The action will resume at 7:45 a.m. CT on Tuesday, with the final round beginning around 8:30 a.m. local time. Morales was the only Aggie to finish his second round, with the other four competing members needing just five holes to complete Monday's round. When play resumes in the morning, the Aggies will hold the tenth place position, ahead of UTEP and UT Arlington.
