LAS CRUCES, N.M. – In recognition of Black History Month 2024, NM State athletics will be spotlighting it's rich history of African-American student-athletes, coaches and administrators from all of Aggie sports throughout the month of February.
Each day through the month of February, different African-American Aggie greats will be highlighted on the Aggies' main Facebook (NM State Aggies), Twitter (@NMStateAggies) and Instagram (@NMStateAggies) pages.
Additionally, Aggie Athletics will collaborate with New Mexico State University's Black Programs and the Black Student Association to bring Black History to life.
On Thursday, Feb. 15 at the Women's Basketball game against Middle Tennessee at the Pan American Center - Athletics will recognize Anita Maxwell-Skipper for her tremendous accomplishments as an athlete, as well as her continued contributions to Dona Ana County and her award-winning radio work as a play-by-play analyst for Aggie men's basketball.
Additionally, on Thursday, Feb. 22 at the Men's Basketball game against Sam Houston, McKinley Boston, the first African American athletic director at NM State. The NMSU Ghana Student Association will also be recognized.
