LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Following an eventful regular season, the Aggies are set to take part in the 2024 CUSA Cross Country Championships, held Nov. 2 at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Ala. Hosted by Jacksonville State, this is the first trek east of Texas for the Aggies this season. The women's 6K will kick off the day of competition at approximately 7:34 a.m. MT, with the men's 8K following at 8:34 a.m. MT. The Starting Line
- NM State will compete in the 2024 CUSA Cross Country Championships on Friday, Oct. 17, from Watts Cross Country Course for the final meet of the regular season. The women's 6K will start at 7:34 a.m. MT, with the men's 8K beginning at approximately 8:34 a.m.
- The Aggies will compete alongside each of the other member institutions in Conference USA: FIU, Jax State, Kennesaw State, Liberty, LA Tech, Middle Tennessee, Sam Houston, UTEP and WKU.
- This will be the final meet for the Aggies as a team, though a select group who qualify will then head to the NCAA Mountain Regional, hosted by the University of Nevada on Nov. 15.
Fresh Faces
- The Aggies welcome 14 new members to the cross country teams, with a wealth of accolades and talent between them.
- NM State landed six transfers in Jonah Archer (GCU), Khloi Bird (Butler CC), Valeria Macias Casas (Universidad Autonoma de Coahuila), Andrew Gibby (Arizona), Rachel O'Brien (Adams State) and Amanda Radava (ULM).
- Along with the transfers, the Crimson & White added seven freshman in the recruiting class – LeslieAnn Apodaca, Orion Chavez, Angel Maese, Alexandra Ordaz, Marisa Sena, Gabriel Uranga and Leo Valenzuela.
- Apodaca (Las Cruces), Chavez (Albuquerque), and Sena (Albuquerque) join from the Land of Enchantment, while Maese, Ordaz, Uranga and Valenzuela add to the program from nearby El Paso.
- Orion Chavez holds the third-fastest time and best time among freshman for NM State this season after recording a mark of 24:24 in the 8K at the Arturo Barrios Invitational.

- In their first championship meet as members of CUSA, the women's team took third overall, tied with Liberty behind First Team All-Conference selections Thobile Amon and Thulisile Amon, while the men's team took fifth place, paced by Thomas Croshaw's 13th place finish.
- In addition, Croshaw was named the Freshman of the Meet, posting a time of 23:42.2.
