LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Following performances that saw the Aggies finish fourth and sixth in the men's and women's races respectively at the 2024 CUSA Cross Country Championships, NM State is back in action once more for the 2024 NCAA Mountain Regional on Friday, Nov. 14. Hosted by the University of Nevada, the meet will take place from the Washoe Golf Course. The women's 6K will begin the day at approximately 10:00 a.m. MT, with the men's 10K following at 11:00 a.m. MT. Fans can follow along with the action through streaming available at this

The Starting Line
- NM State will compete in the 2024 NCAA Mountain Regional on Friday, Nov. 15, from Washoe Golf Course. The women's 6K will start at 10:00 a.m. MT, with the men's 10K beginning at approximately 11:00 a.m. MT.
- The Aggies will compete alongside the 17 other members of the Mountain region, including Air Force, BYU, Colorado, Colorado State, Montana State, Nevada, New Mexico, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, Southern Utah, Texas Tech, Utah State, Utah Valley, Utah, UTEP, Weber State and Wyoming.
- In total, 14 student-athletes will make the journey to Reno, with seven each from the men's and women's cross country teams.
- This is the first 10K the NM State men will compete in this season.
- Men's Roster: Jonah Archer, Derick Castellanos, Orion Chavez, Thomas Croshaw, Andrew Gibby, Angel Maese and Leo Valenzuela.
- Women's Roster: Khloi Bird, Valeria Macias Casas, Marlene Mosqueda, Rachel O'Brien, Kayla O'Connell, Amanda Radava and Jordan Torres.
Fresh Faces
- The Aggies welcome 14 new members to the cross country teams, with a wealth of accolades and talent between them.
- NM State landed six transfers in Jonah Archer (GCU), Khloi Bird (Butler CC), Valeria Macias Casas (Universidad Autonoma de Coahuila), Andrew Gibby (Arizona), Rachel O'Brien (Adams State) and Amanda Radava (ULM).
- Along with the transfers, the Crimson & White added seven freshman in the recruiting class – LeslieAnn Apodaca, Orion Chavez, Angel Maese, Alexandra Ordaz, Marisa Sena, Gabriel Uranga and Leo Valenzuela.
- Apodaca (Las Cruces), Chavez (Albuquerque), and Sena (Albuquerque) join from the Land of Enchantment, while Maese, Ordaz, Uranga and Valenzuela add to the program from nearby El Paso.
- Orion Chavez holds the third-fastest time and best time among freshman for NM State this season after recording a mark of 24:24 in the 8K at the Arturo Barrios Invitational.

- Three-time NCAA Mountain Regional participant Maggie Gibbs led the way for all Aggies, finishing in 49th in the women's 6k with a time of 20:52.0, her second fastest mark in the 6k this season.
- A trio of Aggies made their NCAA Mountain Regional debut: 2023 CUSA Championships Freshman of the Meet Thomas Croshaw posted a time of 32:44.1 in the first 10k of his collegiate career, Kayla O'Connell posted a time of 22:33.7 in the women's 6k while Jordan Torres tallied a time of 22:52.4.
