LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The NM State swimmers and divers split up for a pair of midseason events as the Aggie swim team continued its stay in Houston on day two of the Phill Hansel Invite while the Aggie divers opened competition in Flagstaff, Ariz., at the Lumberjack Diving Invite.
 
In Houston, Katie Rink and Naomi Slee led the way for the Aggies once again as they qualified for the A final in the 200 free. Meanwhile, the Aggies' Mira Tinani and Peytton Moore each represented the program in the 3-meter finals.

Following the 200 medley relay, the Aggies secured two spots among the top 16 in the 100 butterfly as Faye McDonagh posted a 55.82 to finish 14^th while Emma Bacon came in just one spot behind McDonagh with a time of 56.14.
 
Estel Galo also managed to swim her way into the B final of the 400 IM as she would eventually place 14^th with a time of 4:25.69.
 
NM State's best showing came in the following event as Katie Rink posted a time of 1:48.77 in the 200 free to place fourth in a field of 40 competitors. Additionally, fellow junior Naomi Slee submitted a time of 1:49.30 to come in fifth place.
 
Like they did in the 100 fly, the Aggies logged a pair of top-16 finishes in the 100 back as Emily Dobbins' time of 55.62 was good for 14^th in the event while Kira Brownell's time of 56.67 secured a 16^th-place finish.
 
The Aggies also had a good performance in the 800 free relay as the team of Katie Rink, Naomi Slee, Dijana Mazumdar and Lina Khiyara joined forces to place fourth with a time of 7:24.24.
 
Ultimately, the Aggies will enter the final day of competition slotted in fifth place with a total of 460.5 points.
 
LUMBERJACK DIVING INVITE
The Aggies opened their event in Flagstaff on Thursday morning as they competed from the 3-meter board. In the prelims, Mira Tinani posted a top-10 score as she posted a score of 244.25 to place 10^th and qualify for the finals. Meanwhile, Peytton Moore also qualified for the finals with a score of 226.80.
 
In the finals, Tinani posted a final score of 489.80 to place 10^th while Moore logged a 455.40 to place 16^th.

NM State swim will wrap up its stay in Houston on Friday as it prepares to compete in the final six events of the week. Meanwhile, the Aggie divers will return to the Wall Aquatic Center for the platform and team event on Friday.
