LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Following a Saturday that featured clouds, rain and even some hail, the Aggies returned to the courts on Tuesday to host the Mustangs at the NM State Tennis Center. Without a cloud in the sky, the Aggies defeated WNMU 7-0 in the opener before dismissing their opponent 4-0 in the ensuing match.
In the first match of the day, the Aggies swept doubles to earn the advantage entering singles action. This included a commanding victory for the tandem of Luca Fé d'Ostiani and
Itay Feigin who knocked off their Mustang opponents 6-0 to set the tone for the day.
In singles play,
Gustavo Campos and Patrick Lohman allowed their opponents to win just four games combined across lines No. 3 and No. 6 as Campos won 6-2, 6-1, while Lohmann claimed victory by a score of 6-1, 6-0. In total, five of the six singles matches were clinched after just two sets of action.
The second match was almost equally as impressive for the Aggies, however, Western New Mexico was able to pick up a win in doubles play. This ultimately proved inconsequential as the Aggies claimed victory at No. 1 and No. 3 to enter singles play in need of three wins.
NM State would reach enough points to gather its fourth win on the season thanks to wins from
Gustavo Campos,
Patrick Lohmann and
Roko Stipetic.

The Aggies will next travel to the southern edge of Texas as they compete in the H-E-B Invitational hosted by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in Corpus Christi, Texas.
