LAREDO, Texas – NM State began its weekend in East Texas as they played rounds one and two at the Border Olympics at The Laredo Country Club on Monday. Following the first day of action, the Aggies are tied for 13
th place after shooting a combined 585 (+4) over the first 36 holes of the two-day tournament.
 
Joined by 16 other programs, including host Houston, Conference USA foe Sam Houston and day one leader Illinois State, the Aggies were led by sophomore 
Javier Delgadillo who finished the day with a pair of 71s to end tied for 20
th on the individual leaderboard. This was highlighted by a second round which featured four birdies.
 
Meanwhile, 
Alvaro Morales (T38, E) and Alex Bauduin (T45, E) each played their way into the top half of the 91-player leaderboard. In total, the Aggies amassed 23 birdies and will enter the final round 10 strokes away from securing a top-10 team finish.
 
Tuesday's round will begin at 7 a.m. MT with 
Javier Delgadillo and 
Alvaro Morales going off of hole 12 and 
Vari Mariscalm, Alex Bauduin and 
Ethan Klose starting at 13.
