HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Competing at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Ala., NM State enjoyed a solid showing at the 2025 Conference USA Cross Country Championships.
Nia Allison led the way, finishing sixth overall to earn first team All-CUSA honors while helping the team tally a second-place result. Fellow junior
Andrew Gibby paced the men's squad, recording a second team All-CUSA performance as the team took fifth.
Saturday's action kicked off with the women's 6k, where
Nia Allison kept pace with the race leaders for the duration of the meet – posting a personal best time of 20:36.04 to finish sixth overall, her best finish at the CUSA Cross Country Championships. She became the first Aggie to earn first-team honors since joining Conference USA in 2023.
Amanda Radava finished second for the Crimson & White, taking 11
th overall with a time of 20:48.33, a new personal best. This performance garnered a second team All-CUSA selection for the Grobina, Latvia, native.
Rounding out the top three finishers for NM State was senior
Valeria Macias Casas, powering her way up the leaderboard to finish 19
th overall, notching a new personal best time of 20:56.04.
True freshman
Ainsleigh Kasprick crossed the line fourth on the team in her CUSA Championships debut, taking 34
th overall with a personal best time of 21:36.14.
Marlene Mosqueda followed just behind, finishing 40
th with a time of 21:44.50.
Eloïse Stuart also made her CUSA Championships debut, joining the Aggies following a freshman season at Miami (FL), posting a new top time of 22:09.54. Stuart's teammate at Rock Canyon High School,
Murrie Dodge crossed the line with a personal best mark of 22:22.35 in her second appearance at the CUSA Championships.
Freshman
Brooke Kelly rounded out the Aggie finishers on the day in her championship-format debut.
On the men's side of the action, junior
Andrew Gibby tallied his second straight all-conference selection, taking 16
th overall to earn third team honors with a time of 24:26.80.
A pair of sophomores closed off the top-three finishes for the Crimson & White, as
Orion Chavez (24:44.64) and
Omer Ibrahim (25:07.03) crossed the line in 25
th and 31
st, respectively. This became Chavez's best finish in a championship format, while Ibrahim made his CUSA Championships debut after joining the Aggies from Tarleton.
Carlsbad, N.M., native
Derick Castellanos was the next to cross the line for NM State, recording a steady rise throughout the duration of the race to finish with a time of 25:30.63. Second-year Aggie
Angel Maese finished 40
th overall with a mark of 25:36.46, a new best time in a championship format.
Seniors
Nick Allred (25:47.79) and
Jonah Archer (25:59.66) followed, with both recording solid kicks down the stretch to move multiple spots up the standings.
Sophomores
Gabriel Uranga and
Leo Valenzuela rounded out the day for the Aggies, with both recording new best times in the championship format.
