NM State put together a commanding performance on Friday, sweeping Western New Mexico 7-0 at the NM State Tennis Center. The Aggies secured the doubles point before rattling off six straight-set victories in singles play to seal the shutout win.
The duo of Roko Stipetic and Lance Urlaub set the tone early with a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles, followed by Itay Feigin and Holland Snell clinching the point with a dominant 6-2 performance at the top spot. Gustavo Campos and Tobias Wallin completed the doubles sweep with a 6-4 victory at the No. 2 position.
In singles, Matias Rojas wasted no time at No. 5, cruising to a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Roko Stipetic followed with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6, extending the Aggies' lead. Tobias Wallin put NM State on the brink of clinching with a commanding 6-2, 6-1 result at No. 2. Lance Urlaub then sealed the match at No. 4, securing a 6-3, 6-3 victory.
The Aggies completed the sweep with Itay Feigin grinding out a hard-fought 6-1, 7-6 win at No. 1 singles, while Holland Snell capped off the flawless team effort with a 6-7, 6-0, 6-2 comeback victory at No. 3.
UP NEXT
The Aggies will head back on the road next week as they will participate in the Golden State Invitational.
