NM State 4, UTEP 1
NM State earned a crucial rivalry win on Friday, defeating UTEP 4-1 at the NM State Tennis Center. The Aggies captured the doubles point before notching three straight-set wins in singles play to secure the victory.
The match started with NM State gaining the early edge in doubles. Montana Parkinson-Lubold and Lisa Zhu set the tone with a 6-4 win at No. 2, while Nadia Nemeth and Anna Pinaieva clinched the point with a hard-fought 7-5 victory at No. 1.
In singles action, Whitney Moon dominated at No. 3, rolling to a 6-3, 6-0 win to extend the Aggies' lead. Parkinson-Lubold followed with an equally impressive 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6. Anna Pinaieva then sealed the match at No. 1, defeating Carlotta Mencaglia 6-2, 6-4.
UTEP picked up its lone point at No. 4, while matches at No. 2 and No. 5 were left unfinished.

The Aggies will finish out their weekend of competition hosting UC Irvine tomorrow morning at 10 a.m.
