LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award announced its 13th annual watch list on Wednesday and sophomore wide receiver TJ Pride is one of 102 players from nine conferences and one independent that has been recognized. He is also one of just 29 receivers to be selected to the exclusive list.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity; specifically, tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals. In addition, the nominee must meet one or more of the following criteria: Played football at and graduated from a Texas High School and/or currently playing at Texas D1 four-year college.

Pride, a native of Midlothian, Texas, begins his second year with the program after a freshman campaign in which he finished the year as the Aggies leader in both receptions and yards on his way to being named to the All-CUSA Freshman Offensive Team. Pride also finished the year second among Aggie wide receivers in touchdown receptions with two.

With nearly 400 receiving yards, Pride finished the year ranked first in receiving yards among true freshman in Conference USA. He was also the only true freshman in the league to finish the year among the top 25 in receiving yards this season. In total, Pride paced the Aggies in receptions in five games this season, including leading the way in the final game of the season when he recorded a career-high in both catches (6) and receiving yards (81).

Pride and the Aggies will kickoff the season on Saturday, August 30, when Bryant visits Las Cruces for the season opener. The first game of the season is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. MT.
